Waimarie Wines - Founded in 2000 at Muriwai, Auckland, Waimarie Wines is owned by viticulturalist Stephen Nobilo and his parents Steve Snr and Valerie Nobilo. Waimarie Wines is focused on producing premium quality, handcrafted wines.

Stephen Nobilo, third generation winemaker, continues a family heritage of over seventy years of winemaking in New Zealand.

The Nobilo winemaking legacy began in 1943 when Croatian immigrants Nicola and Zuva Nobilo founded Nobilo Wines at Huapai, Auckland, and eventually sold in 1999.

In 1999 Steve Nobilo Snr purchased 171 acres in the Muriwai Valley with Stephen Jnr planting three acres of Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay that September. Over the next three years a further three acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot were also planted. Read more>>
